As we begin summer, there's Father's Day, graduations, weddings, and vacations!

Father's Day is a day of commemoration and celebration of Dad, and to not only honor your father, but all men who have acted as a father figure in your life - whether as Stepfathers, Uncles, Grandfathers, or "Big Brothers."

Contrary to popular misconception, Father's Day was not established as a holiday in order to help greeting card manufacturers sell more cards. For the origin of Father's Day and some ideas on how to celebrate this day, visit Father's Day on the Net .

Here in the Valley our summer means those months in which we pay our dues for all the gorgeous weather the rest of the year! We do have water sports, lots of lakes, plenty of cool places to visit and fun things to do like lolling in our pools under the beautiful sunny skies, and I'll tell you all about them next month.
